What ingredients do you use in your candles?
All of our candles are made with a blend of natural soy wax and pure essential oils. We don’t use any synthetic fragrances, paraffin wax, or hidden additives — just clean, botanical ingredients crafted for a calm and intentional burn.

Do you use synthetic fragrance oils?
Never. We only use 100% essential oils, carefully blended to reflect the natural world and support gentle, grounded rituals. That means our scents are subtle, complex, and evolve softly as they burn.

How long do your candles burn for?
Our 30cl candles have a burn time of approximately 40 hours — sometimes longer with proper care. Always trim your wick before lighting and allow the wax to melt fully across the surface to get the most from each burn.

Are your candles safe for pets?
We always recommend burning candles in well-ventilated spaces, especially around animals. While we only use natural essential oils, some oils (like clove or eucalyptus) can be strong for sensitive pets. If you have concerns, feel free to get in touch and we can guide you through the gentlest options.

Can I reuse the jar once the candle is finished?
Absolutely. Once your candle is finished, simply remove any remaining wax and wash the jar gently with warm, soapy water. Our amber glass jars make beautiful holders for tealights, dried herbs, pens, or even wildflowers.

How should I care for my candle?
For the best burn, always trim your wick to around 5mm before lighting. Let the wax melt fully across the surface each time — this helps avoid tunnelling and gives you the longest, cleanest burn possible. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from draughts, pets, and anything flammable.

Why is the first burn important?
The first burn sets the "memory" of your candle. Let it melt all the way to the edges of the jar (usually 2–3 hours) before blowing it out. This helps the wax burn evenly for the life of the candle and avoids a tunnel forming down the middle.

Why does my candle tunnel or burn unevenly?
Tunnelling usually happens when the wax hasn’t melted to the edges during the first few burns. It can also happen if the wick is too long or your candle is in a cold or draughty spot. Try letting it burn longer next time and always trim the wick before lighting.

When will my order arrive?
We aim to dispatch all orders within 2–3 working days. You’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details once your parcel is on its way. During busy periods or for limited batch pours, this may take a little longer — but we’ll always keep you updated.

Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes — we offer optional gift wrapping at checkout. Your order will be carefully wrapped in tissue and tied with natural twine, ready to be given (or received) with love. You can also add a handwritten note at no extra cost.

Can I include a personalised message?
Absolutely. Just add your message at checkout and we’ll handwrite it for you on one of our notecards. If you’re gifting a candle, we’ll be sure to leave out the receipt.

Where do you ship to?
We currently ship across the UK. If you’re hoping to send a candle abroad, get in touch — we’re always happy to explore options for international shipping where possible.

What’s your return policy?
If something’s not quite right, we’re here to help. Please email returns@evedonmeadow.co.uk within 14 days of receiving your order, and we’ll send you a free returns label. Refunds are issued within 5–7 working days of receiving the returned item, as long as it’s unused and in its original condition.

Are your candles eco-friendly?
We do our best to make every element of our candles as natural and responsible as possible. We use 100% essential oils, soy wax, and eco wicks coated in vegetable wax — no synthetic fragrances, no paraffin, and no unnecessary fillers.

What kind of wax do you use?We useGolden Wax 464, a soy-based wax made in Sweden by AAK. It’s crafted from responsibly sourced soybean oil, and is both GMO-free and vegan-friendly. AAK is known for its strong sustainability standards — ensuring that the wax is produced with care for both the environment and the people involved. We chose this wax for its clean burn, natural credentials, and ability to hold essential oils beautifully.

What kind of packaging do you use?
Our packaging is plastic-free and either recyclable, compostable, or reusable. We wrap each order carefully in recyclable tissue and kraft paper. When possible, we use FSC-certified or recycled materials.

Can I reuse the jar or packaging?
Yes — our amber glass jars make beautiful storage pots, tealight holders, or flower vases. Simply wash out any remaining wax with warm soapy water. Gift boxes and tissue can be recycled or reused too.

Do you offset your carbon footprint?
We’re a small business still growing, but we’re actively exploring ways to reduce our footprint and give back to the land that inspires us — from low-impact production to seasonal sourcing. This is an evolving part of our story, and we’re committed to learning as we grow.
